About NT
Newfoundland Time (NT) is the time standard used in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The time zone is unique because it differs from neighboring North American time zones by 30 minutes instead of a full hour.
During standard time, Newfoundland Time follows Newfoundland Standard Time (NST), which has a UTC offset of UTC−03:30. During daylight saving time, it switches to Newfoundland Daylight Time (NDT), which has a UTC offset of UTC−02:30.
Newfoundland Time is observed in major communities across Newfoundland and Labrador, including St. John’s, Corner Brook, Gander, and Grand Falls-Windsor. It is one of the few time zones in the world that uses a half-hour offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
