About PDT

PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) is the daylight saving time observed in parts of the western United States and Canada during the warmer months of the year. The time zone offset of PDT is UTC−07:00, which means it is 7 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

Pacific Daylight Time is used to make better use of daylight during spring and summer. When daylight saving time ends, regions observing PDT switch back to Pacific Standard Time (PST), which has a UTC offset of UTC−08:00.

PDT is followed in major cities such as Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and several other locations along the Pacific coast of North America.
